FORGED IN THE GYM, SHARPENED IN THE CLINIC
The internet is full of opinions and “information” addressing the “proper” way to enhance your health and your exercise. Launched in 2016, this blog is dedicated to engaging a community of contributors and readers eager to obtain and disseminate evidence-based knowledge to enhance health and improve the efficiency and safety of the essential components of health/fitness. If you live an active lifestyle, whether it be for recreation, leisure, or for your career, this blog is here for YOU.
You’re reading blogs like this because you’re seeking knowledge by a licensed professional on how to improve and enhance yourself through exercise. You’re still reading this because you want to know if this blog does have the correct information. In the rehabilitation, exercise, and fitness world we are inundated with talking-heads spouting that they have the correct answer. They say that you should try this new (metaphorical) wheel they created that is better than all the other wheels that came before. This is not one of those blogs. This site is YOUR blog. Here I will present evidence-based information that I’ve gathered, and continue to gather, of over a decade of experience in sport, classroom, clinic, and practice. It still still be considered my opinion, and I will never say my approach is the only one. However, I will attempt to enlighten you to improper and/or outdated philosophies, help you wade through misconceptions and narrow-minded approaches, improve your own workouts, and present tools to better yourself and your own network for years to come. I will present self-guided topics that fully encompass my degree as Doctor of Physical Therapy ranging from weight lifting, bio-mechanics, kinesiology, cardiovascular training, manual therapy techniques, weight loss, macro-nutrition, gait (both walking and running), and neuromuscular re-education in regards to movement re-training. I will review certain equipment, journals, and professional associations.
Above all else, and what I’m most eager to do is to answer questions on any topic related to the purpose of this blog. I highly encourage anybody with a question please feel free to message me and I’ll respond in an upcoming blog post. With that said, please refrain from profanity, racism, bigotry, and any other form of negativity as it will not be tolerated.
Thanks for visiting, and as always……stay healthy and stay active.

***The contents of this blog are merely opinion after over a decade in the fitness and rehabilitation industry. I will present facts backed with evidence, but in no way is it meant to disregard current medical advice from your doctor and you should always seek medical consultation prior to beginning an exercise program, especially for those with comorbidities.**
